History
In 1950, Miquel Ramió Serra started his career as a livestock merchant. A few years later, he had the opportunity to build a cutting plant in the town of Sant Jordi Desvalls and his son, Miquel Ramió Costa, joined the company. With this step, Mr Ramió Serra established the foundations of what would later be Famadesa.
Activity continued to increase and the cutting plant had to move to Riudellots de la Selva, where a slaughterhouse could be added to the cutting plant. As a result of this integration and its new facilities, the company we know today as Famadesa was born.
In recent decades, we’ve grown in terms of numbers as well as facilities. While upholding family tradition, we work to offer the best quality and service possible to our clients. We support continuous improvement and focus our efforts on full vertical integration, in line with the European “Farm to Fork” strategy. The efforts and commitment of the company’s entire team has allowed Famadesa to gain significant standing in the pig industry.
